The Spatial Plan of Montenegro until 2020 promotes the use of renewable energy resources and the “Draft National Energy Development Strategy until 2030” identifies a significant opportunity to establish and promote solar photovoltaic (PV) project development in the Country.
In accordance to these obligations there was a requirement for the development of a “Study of Spatial Valorization Aimed at Renewable Solar Power Generation”(hereinafter: Solar Study).
The primary objective of the Solar Study is to undertake an analysis of potential sites for renewable solar PV energy development. The development of a Solar Study will provide guidance to future renewable solar electrical generation.
The Study of Spatial Valorization Aimed at Renewable Solar Power Generation is divided into three phases:
- Phase 1- A Vision for Solar Farm Development in Montenegro;
- Phase 2- Solar PV Development Selection Criteria;
- Phase 3- Detailed Site Analyses for Rural and Urban Locations.
